75 minutes on bus from Matsumoto Railway Shin-Shimashima Station bound for Kamikochi. Get off at the last stop, then 10 minutes walk. 75 minutes by taxi from Matsumoto Railway Shin-Shimashima Station.. 60 minutes drive from Matsumoto Interchange on Nagano Expressway to Sawando parking area. Park your car at Sawando parking area or Akandana Parking area and please take a shuttle bus. Private vehicles are not allowed to enter Kamikochi.
