Ishicho Shogikuen is one of the two Ishicho Ryokan's located along the Kamogawa River, and on the old site of Kogoro Katura's house, a noble patriot of the Meiji Restoration later to be known as Takayoshi Kido. The Ryokan now has modern facilities with a traditional Kyoto flavor.
